International Yoga Day

‘Yoga is a mirror to look at ourselves from within.’

Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it does help us to understand ourselves from deep within and transforms our soul to experience the ecstasy of calmness. St Francis De Sales School observed International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2023. About fifty students from grade IV and V along with yoga instructors participated in performing yoga asanas emphasizing the importance of yoga for a sound mind and body leading to a healthy lifestyle. The three eminent International Yoga Players who have won many prestigious National and International Yoga Awards. They are well skilled and acquire various degrees in Yoga Science, demonstrated several advanced yoga asanas. The invited guest were Purushothama D, Thanmay M Shetty and Prakash D. To mention a few asanas they performed were Pair yoga, Mayurasana and Eka Hasta Mayurhasana. The audience were indeed thrilled and amazed at the astounding performance of the invited yoga players. The event ended with an address by Rev. Fr. Binoy, the Principal advising students to choose a healthy lifestyle encouraging them to practice yoga and other form of exercises.

World Music day

‘Music is the essence of life that helps shape a healthy and sound mind leading to a meditative and serene world.’

The World Music day is all about celebrating melodies and strings, jingles of instruments and the voices of marvellous artists. It is to revel and realize the power of music that can heal our minds and instill a joyous experience. On 21st June, 2023 the students of St. Francis De Sales Public School, celebrated the World Music Day with variety of music including both western and Indian. The proud desalites performed music Tarana in Raag Kedar, Western music performance and Punjabi folk song which indeed enthralled the audience transcending them to experience the most mesmerizing piece of music.

The singers who performed were Khyati Verma, Diya Shiju, Cherin Preeth, Yashika, Kavana Nayak and Swara Nayak. The proud Desalites who presented Solo Instrumental were: Keyboard by Athithi Aravindan, Guitar by Madhav Jayesh and Cassandra Philo Terrence. Flute by Mithun Sanjay, Tabla by Chinmay Shenoy, Harmonium by Swara Nayak , Clapbox by Ezeikel and Rian Ganapathy . Octopad by Rubi Catherine.

The World Music Day ended with a message from Rev. Fr. Binoy, the principal encouraging the students to take interest in music be it in a form of passion or hobby as it helps one to synchronize in both soul and mind.
