‘Winners never quit, Quitters never win’,

‘Sports bring everyone together and through sports we can create a healthy society, as it promotes physical fitness and health’.

St. Francis De Sales Public School ICSE & ISC organized a Sports Day,‘Desparta-2022’, themed ‘Winners never quit, Quitters never win’, on 26th & 27th of August, with a mission of achieving health and fitness. Annual Sports Meet-2022 was a sight to behold, as students with their respective logos marched on in the spirit of unity. It was indeed a happy moment to see everyone blooming in the spirit of sportsmanship.

A grand opening of the Sports Day, ‘Desparta-2022’ took place on 26th August, 2022. The day was marked with the presence of eminent sports personalities such as Mr. Nakul Dev K, a National level Volleyball Champion, the Chief Guest of the function. Ms. Chaitra Shree N. an International Karate Champion and a prominent name in karate was a special invitee of the day along with Guest of Honour, Rev. Fr. Saju Jose, the Superior in Mermier Bhavan.

The program began with a prayer song, invoking God’s blessings. The school flag which symbolizes the dignity of the institution was hoisted with an aim to honour the significance of the day. The torch and the Olympic flame were lit by the students, who achieved splendid recognition in sports and other fields. Our Special Invitee, Ms. Chaitra Shree declared ‘Desparta-2022 Meet’ open.

To represent their houses all the animators of Mercury, Venus, Neptune and Saturn house released sky lanterns of their respective house colour to spread positivity and the passion to reach the limitless boundaries. The students of all the four houses were seen marching with esteemed dignity and dynamismled by Arjun R, theHead Boy, and Krisha Kushe, the Head Girl of the School. The Captains and the Vice Captains of all the four houses marchedforward for the oath taking ceremony, which was administered by Rev. Fr. Jabamalai, the principal of the school.

The Chief Guests of the day Mr. Nakul Dev enlightened the gathering with his inspiring words and Ms. Chaitra Shree N, enthralled the audience with her amazing karate skills including her moves with Nunchaku, which indeed was very encouraging to our students. Thestudents of Standard IV astounded everyone with their power packed performance on stage. Rev. Fr. Jabamalai, our principal felicitated the esteemed guests of the day and addressed the gathering. The Opening ceremony of Desparta-2022 was concluded with the words of gratitude.

The Closing ceremony of ‘Desparta-2022’, ‘Winners never quit, Quitters never win’ was held on 27th of August. It was indeed a moment of extreme joy to have Rev. Fr. Victor Kujur, Principal of SFS PU College, Hebbagodi as the Chief Guest and Rev. Fr. Dorai Swamy, Assistant Parish Priest, St. Francis De Sales Church as the Guest of Honour. Prizes were given away to the winners of each sports event.

The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Victor Kujur addressed the gathering and lowered the school flag. Our Guest of Honour, Rev. Fr. Dorai Swamy enlightened us with his words.The announcement of Desparta-2022 Championship was indeed a moment of an awe for the students and teachers which was bagged by the Mercury House as the first runners up and Neptune House, the second runners up. Rev. Fr. Victor Kujur declared Desparta Meet closed for the academic year 2022 and the program ended with vote of thanks followed by National Anthem.
