Kindergarten is the first opportunity for children to begin to understand that school is a place for learning and working. We at SFS focus on providing a curiosity-driven environment where children develop a love for learning through playing.
We envision developing a future generation of leaders who value global well-being and approach their life challenges with integrity, resilience and compassion.
The school strictly follows the regulations and the syllabus of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
The method of teaching we follow in kindergarten builds thinking skills and problem solving confidence in children. The entire programme of kindergarten is child centred which follows a play way and activity approach. Children explore and work in large groups, small groups, and independently through teacher-directed and child-initiated activities.
Students have ample opportunity to nurture their skills and talents as the school provides a plethora of hobby based activities for the tiny- tots of kindergarten like Drawing, Painting, Vegetable Printing, Origami, Paper Craft, Dough Craft and Puppet Making. These activities develop children’s creativity, fantasy and taste.
The emphasis is on nurturing the connection between home and school, socially adjusting, and learning in an environment planned to encourage discovery, independence, the imagination, and social interaction. In order to develop confidence and self-regulation, children are encouraged to help themselves, take initiative, and become increasingly independent.
To provide our students with an opportunity to expand their horizons and harness an existing skill or talent, various programmes like Novello, Jollity Day, CheBellezza (Cultural and Literary competition),Desfida (Sports and Games) and Bellissimo (Kindergarten Annual Day) are held.
The progress and performance of the child is assessed regularly throughout the year in formal and informal way. We follow continuous assessment based on daily learning. Through careful observation and assessment, learning goals are set for each child, regularly reviewed, progress monitored and achievements celebrated.
