International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

On June 26, 2024, SFS Public School organized a seminar for students of grades X to XII in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse. Police Inspector T.L. Praveen Kumar from the Cyber Crime and Narcotics Department led the session, delivering an impactful talk on the physical, psychological, and social consequences of drug abuse.

Inspector Praveen Kumar elaborated on the severe health risks, mental health issues, and social challenges associated with substance abuse. He also discussed the legal ramifications, emphasizing the strict penalties for drug-related offenses. His presentation highlighted the long-term effects of socially accepted substances like tobacco and alcohol, encouraging students to abstain from these harmful substances and to advocate for a drug-free lifestyle within their communities.

The seminar concluded with an interactive session, inspiring students to say ‘NO’ to drugs and to educate their peers and family members about the dangers of substance abuse. The event was a significant step towards fostering a healthier and more informed student community at SFS Public School.
