On the 15th of August, 2023, St. Francis De Sales Public School, ICSE & ISC,
celebrated its 76th Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm under the
theme "Nation First, Always First." The event was a poignant tribute to India's
hard-fought struggle for freedom and an occasion to inspire patriotism and unity
among the students.
The event commenced with a mesmerizing invocation dance performed by Grade
IV students, setting a vibrant and patriotic tone for the day's celebrations. The chief
guest of the event, Sri Iyanna Reddy, the Inspector of Police, Hebbagodi, Anekal
Taluk, graced the occasion with his presence.
A significant highlight of the day was the graceful Flag Hoisting ceremony, by
Chief Guest Sri Iyanna Reddy. The unfurling of the Indian tricolour symbolized the
culmination of sacrifices and aspirations of countless individuals who fought for
India's freedom.
The ensuing March Past showcased the dedication and discipline of the students.
Troops from the four houses marched smartly alongside their captains and vice-
captains, followed by the impressive NCC team and the melodious school band.
The air resonated with patriotic fervour as the students of Grade IV presented a
stirring patriotic song, amplifying the spirit of unity and pride.
A thoughtful tribute was paid to the valiant freedom fighters who laid down their
lives for the nation's honour. Students eloquently portrayed the lives of eminent
figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Bhagat Singh, Lal Bahadur
Shastri, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Chandra Shekhar Azad, and
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel through engaging role plays. This portrayal not only
educated the students about their history but also kindled a sense of respect and
admiration for these heroes.
Rev. Fr. Binoy, in his address, shared enlightening words emphasizing the
significance of respecting one's country. His words resonated with the essence of
the day, encouraging the students to value their freedom and contribute positively
to the nation's progress.
As the event drew to a close, heartfelt gratitude was extended to all participants,
attendees, and contributors who made the celebration a memorable success. The
Independence Day celebration at SFS Public School, ICSE & ISC, was not merely
an event but a powerful expression of love for the nation and a pledge to uphold its
