Kannada Rajyotsava Day was observed with great pomp by the students and the staff on 1st November, 2022 under the guidance ofRev.Fr. Jabamalai, the principal of St. Francis de Sales Public School.
The program began enthusiastically by escortingthe Chief Guest, Dr. L.G Meera, the Associate Professor of Kannada Department, Maharani Women’s College, Bangalore, in a very traditional way. To commemorate the day, the Karnataka flag was hoisted followed byKannada anthem which was sung with great pride.Thereafter, students showcased their talents and expressed their love for Karnataka and its language Kannada through their performances such as singing and presenting different forms of Karnataka folk dances.
The chief guest admired and appreciated the students and management for celebrating Kannada Rajyotsava Day with such grandeur. Her message to the audience was insightful as she explained the importance of celebrating the day and she also briefed about the significance of the colours used in the flag of Karnataka. She also stressed on the importance of learning Kannada language to uphold the culture and tradition of Karnataka and to ignite the feeling of belongingness with the state of Karnataka.
The day was celebrated with great pride and joy. The programme ended with the felicitation of the Chief Guest by Rev. Fr. Jabamalai, the Principal.
