Following the musical festivities, the school shifted gears to embrace the peace and
discipline of yoga in celebration of International Yoga Day. The event began with a
warm welcome to participants, followed by a warm-up session led by yoga
instructors Mr. Purushottam, Mr. Bharath, and Mr. Jashwanth. The warm-up session
helped to prepare the students physically and mentally for the yoga exercises that
followed, promoting flexibility and minimizing the risk of injury.
The instructors then guided the students through a sequence of Surya Namaskara, a
set of twelve yoga poses that provide a full-body workout. Emphasizing the
importance of synchronizing breath with movement, the instructors encouraged
students to perform each pose with precision and mindfulness. The students responded
with enthusiasm, displaying great focus throughout the session.
Next, students were introduced to a series of basic asanas (yoga postures), such as
Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Vrikshasana (Tree Pose), Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), and
Balasana (Child’s Pose). Each pose was explained thoroughly, with the instructors
highlighting the physical and mental health benefits of each asana.
The event concluded with a ‘Pair Asana Demonstration,’ a captivating segment that
showcased the importance of balance, coordination, and trust. Students participated in
pairs, displaying their teamwork and control as they performed various yoga postures
in unison. This interactive session added a lively and engaging element to the event,
leaving participants and spectators alike deeply impressed.
