About ISC
The ISC is the Class XII examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. English is compulsory; alongside it students take a set of elective subjects.
Because Grade 12 sits well above Grade 10, the syllabus is designed to focus deeply on specific subjects rather than to cover many lightly. This is the year whose results shape college admission, and the course is built accordingly.
The result combines performance in the external examination at the end of Class XII with internal assessment on Socially Useful Productive Work and community engagement.
The CISCE curriculum is comprehensive and complete, giving all fields equal importance. Students going on to higher education carry the depth of subject knowledge with them — and the board’s strong emphasis on English tends to show up later in TOEFL, SAT, CAT and MAT.
